Contact priority
Sort your contacts into P0-P3 tiers so Dispatch handles each tier differently across triage, briefings, and notifications.
The job: not every contact deserves the same urgency. This recipe defines a P0-P3 priority scale and teaches Dispatch to treat each tier differently, so co-founders and key investors surface immediately while cold inbounds get batched. Dispatch records the tiers in your preferences, tags your existing people profiles, and updates the new-person trigger so future contacts are tiered automatically.
Touches: People, Preferences, Automations, Inbox.
Prep: Connect your email so Dispatch has contacts and communication history to tier. People profiles accrue from your connected accounts.
Set up the priority system
Help me set up a priority system for my contacts. I want to categorize people into tiers so you can handle communications differently based on importance:
P0 — Inner circle (e.g. co-founders, key investors, close collaborators)
P1 — Important contacts (e.g. active clients, partners, advisors)
P2 — General network (e.g. warm intros, recurring contacts)
P3 — Cold inbounds (e.g. unsolicited outreach, sales emails)
Walk me through each tier and ask me who belongs in each one. Once we've defined the tiers:
Update my preferences to document the tier definitions and any per-tier handling rules
Tag every existing contact profile with their assigned tier
Update the new person trigger prompt so that any newly created contact is automatically assigned a tier based on context
Prioritize how you surface emails, messages, and meeting requests based on tier
Apply different response urgency and handling rules per tier
Ask me about any specific behaviors I want per tier before finalizing. What you'll see back: Dispatch walks you through each tier, asks who belongs where, and confirms the per-tier handling rules before saving. It writes the tier definitions to your preferences, tags your existing people records, and updates the new-person trigger so newly created contacts are tiered from context. After that, triage, briefings, and notifications respect the tiers.
Try variants
- "Show me everyone you've tagged P0": review the inner circle.
- "Re-tier this person to P1 and remember why": adjust a single contact.
- "For P3, never notify me in real time, just batch into my daily briefing": refine a per-tier rule.
