Weekly digest
A scheduled end-of-week recap of important threads, open todos, and what's still waiting on other people.
The job: close the week knowing what is still open and what slipped. This recipe sets up a scheduled automation that, once a week, compiles the important email threads, your open and overdue todos, and the threads where you are still waiting on a reply, and sends the recap on the channel you choose. It is the weekly companion to the daily morning briefing.
Touches: Inbox, Todos, Automations, and a delivery channel (Slack, Telegram, or email).
Prep: Connect your email. Connect Slack or Telegram if you want the digest delivered there instead of by email.
Set up the digest
Set up a weekly digest for me. Every Friday at 4 PM, send me a recap of the week: the important email threads, my open and overdue todos, and anything where I'm still waiting on a reply from someone. Ask me which channel to send it on (Slack, Telegram, or email). Keep it concise and scannable, grouped into sections. What you'll see back: Dispatch confirms the delivery channel and creates a recurring scheduled automation. The recap arrives each Friday afternoon. The schedule is a file under automations, so you can change the day, the time, or which sections it includes by asking later.
Try variants
- "Make it a Monday morning look-ahead instead of a Friday recap": shift the cadence and framing.
- "Add a section for meetings I have coming up next week": extend the digest.
- "Only include todos, skip the email summary": trim it down.
